Friday morning, Dad took the boys to work with him. Shortly after they arrived, his parents came and picked the boys up. They took them bike riding, geo caching and swimming. They had a blast!! Boy, were they tired out when we picked them up that evening...
I drove down to meet Dad at work in the middle of the afternoon. Then, we headed to Scarborough Downs! I was psyched because I have always wanted to go there and just never had the opportunity. It was great!! We bet on 9 out of 10 races, and even picked the winner a couple of times. We didn't bet very much money because we didn't want to lose much, but we had fun. During Race #9, we got to watch the 5-year-old stallion, Kerogen make history - he trotted the fastest mile ever recorded by an aged stallion in the state of Maine while contesting the $7500 Open-class event, stopping the tele-timer in 1:58 flat. The best part is that Shawn picked this horse as the potential winner and bet on him! Good call, wouldn't you say?! There wasn't much of a crowd, so we were able to lean against the fence beside the track, which is what I enjoyed the most....
