Bulbs & Braids

Yesterday was a beautiful day, so the boys and I spent the morning planting spring-flowering bulbs. We naturalized crocus all over the lawn and placed daffodils around the bases of the trees. We also planted some daffodils & hyacinths around Lazy, the horse statue in front of the house. They will look so cheerful come spring! Our older son helped me plant a bed of garlic. One of our neighbors gave it to the boys, along with candy, on Halloween, so they are very anxious to see it come up in the spring.
In the afternoon, I braided orange ribbons in the horses' manes & tails. Today I put on their orange blankets. I also put one on Lazy. Daisy & the horses were very curious about it and the boys & Dad thought it was hilarious.
